Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- cooking oil - 4 tsp
- onion - 1 item
- grits - 1 c
- other vegetables optional - 1 item
- whole mustard - 1 tsp
- ginger piece - 1/2-i item
How to make spicy grits:
Pour oil in a pan. When heated, put mustard in; cover pan until mustard splutters. Decrease heat; fry onions, vegetables and ginger. Add 2 to 2 1/2 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Add salt. Simultaneously, in a different pan, fry (roast) the grits until golden brown. Add the grits, while stirring constantly, to the first pan.
