Spice nut cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• eggs - 3 item
• vanilla
• salt - 1 tsp
• brown sugar - 3/4 c
• buttermilk - 1 c
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• all-purpose flour - 2 c
• powdered sugar
• chopped walnuts - 1 c
• ground cloves - 3/4 tsp
• ground cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
• orange juice - 1/4 c
• finely shredded orange peel - 1 tsp
• oil shortening - 2/3 c
• Add shortening, brown sugar and buttermilk

How to make spice nut cake:

In mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, soda, cloves and cinnamon. Add shortening, brown sugar and buttermilk. Mix until all flour is moistened. Beat 2 minutes; add eggs. Beat 2 minutes more; stir in nuts. Place in 9 x 13-inch pan.
