Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- oil - 2/3 c
- hot water - 1 c
- can tomato sauce - 2/3 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- rice - 3 c
- garlic powder to taste - 1 item
- small can diced chilies - 1 item
- hot jalapenos, diced more if you like hotter - 1 tsp
- packet chicken broth - 1 item
How to make spanish rice:
Brown rice in oil halfway. Add onion and pepper and finish browning. Dissolve chicken broth with water. Add to rice, also tomato sauce and seasonings. Add approximately 2 cups more water to cover rice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Let sit 5 minutes.Note: When making rice, always use the same pot or frying pan. It might not come out right the first time, but keep trying, it will work.
