Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • tomato sauce - 1/2 c
  • green pepper, diced - 1/2 item
  • can tomatoes - 1 lb
  • uncooked rice - 3/4 c
  • medium size onion, diced - 1 item
  • bacon ends - 1/2 lb

How to make spanish rice:

Fry bacon ends. Saute onion and green pepper in 3 tablespoons of bacon fat in a large skillet until tender. Add all other ingredients. Cook slowly, covered, approximately 45 minutes. Sprinkle crumbled bacon ends on top and serve. Makes 6 servings.
