Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- water
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- tomato sauce - 1/2 c
- green pepper, diced - 1/2 item
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- uncooked rice - 3/4 c
- medium size onion, diced - 1 item
- bacon ends - 1/2 lb
How to make spanish rice:
Fry bacon ends. Saute onion and green pepper in 3 tablespoons of bacon fat in a large skillet until tender. Add all other ingredients. Cook slowly, covered, approximately 45 minutes. Sprinkle crumbled bacon ends on top and serve. Makes 6 servings.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low fat, Side dish.
