Spanish rice
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 2 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- catsup - 1/4 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/4 c
- rice - 1 c
- can tomatoes - 1 lb
- bacon drippings - 3 Tbsp
- bacon, sliced in bite size pieces - 1/2 lb
How to make spanish rice:
Fry bacon until crisp; drain and reserve 3 tablespoons drippings. Saute rice, onion and green pepper in drippings. Add bacon and remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Low protein, Low fat, Side dish.
