Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • clove garlic, minced - 1/2 item
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • ground beef - 1/2 lb
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 6 oz
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • white wine - 1/4 c
  • Ricotta cheese - 1 c
  • Italian sausage - 3/4 lb
  • thin spaghetti - 8 oz
  • large egg, beaten - 1 item
  • dried basil and oregano - 1 tsp
  • fresh basil or 1/4 tsp - 1 Tbsp

How to make spaghetti pie:

Make Crust: Combine the cooked spaghetti, garlic, butter, Parmesan cheese, egg and basil. Mix well.

Filling: Add beef, sausage, onion, tomato sauce, paste, sugar, dried spices and wine. Mix well. Heat until beef loses pink. Drain off fat.

To Assemble Pie: Spread cheese on crust. Add filling. Cover with Mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
