Spaghetti pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- clove garlic, minced - 1/2 item
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- ground beef - 1/2 lb
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 6 oz
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- white wine - 1/4 c
- Ricotta cheese - 1 c
- Italian sausage - 3/4 lb
- thin spaghetti - 8 oz
- large egg, beaten - 1 item
- dried basil and oregano - 1 tsp
- fresh basil or 1/4 tsp - 1 Tbsp
How to make spaghetti pie:
Make Crust: Combine the cooked spaghetti, garlic, butter, Parmesan cheese, egg and basil. Mix well.Filling: Add beef, sausage, onion, tomato sauce, paste, sugar, dried spices and wine. Mix well. Heat until beef loses pink. Drain off fat.
To Assemble Pie: Spread cheese on crust. Add filling. Cover with Mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
