Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- flour - 5 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- egg - 1 item
- honey - 1 Tbsp
- nonfat dry milk - 6 Tbsp
- yeast - 3 Tbsp
- stick melted butter - 1 item
- water, warm - 2 c
How to make sopaipillas:
Place water in bowl. Add sugar and yeast. Let stand 30 minutes. Blend in dry ingredients 1 minute. Add butter, honey and egg. Add yeast mixture while mixing on low speed. Let rise 30 minutes. Knead dough. Roll into pie type flat dough shape; cut into 3 x 2-inch blocks. Fry in deep fat at 375°. Punch dough once to below level of oil.
