Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- cream of tartar - 2 tsp
- butter, soft - 1/2 c
How to make snickerdoodles:
Heat oven to 400°. Mix butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and the eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in mixture. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
