  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • flour
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • raisins - 1/2 c
  • egg yolk - 1 item
  • walnut pieces - 1/2 c
  • sweet butter - 1/2 c
  • whole egg - 1 item

How to make snickerdoodles:

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in whole egg and egg yolk. Sift flour and soda with nutmeg. Mix into batter. Fold in nuts and raisins. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart onto a buttered cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
