Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • sifted flour
  • cream of tartar - 2 tsp
  • soft shortening - 1 c

How to make snickerdoodles:

Mix together thoroughly the shortening, 1 1/2 cups of sugar and eggs.

Sift together and stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Chill dough. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

Place about 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly brown but still soft at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
