Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- granulated sugar - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- cream of tartar - 1 tsp
- butter or soft shortening - 1/2 c
How to make snickerdoodles:
Cream the shortening and sugar together. Add beaten egg. Sift the dry ingredients into the egg mixture. Stir the mixture. Cover the mixing bowl with a plate and put in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 400°. Break off a bit of the cold dough and roll into a ball. Roll each ball in the dish of cinnamon and sugar.
