Sirloin tips with mushrooms
Ingredients/Components
- sirloin, cubed
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- mushrooms - 3/4 lb
- water or beef broth - 1/3 c
- dry red wine or Cold Duck - 1/2 c
- soy sauce
- Dijon style mustard - 2 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 tsp
- whipping cream - 1/2 c
How to make sirloin tips with mushrooms:
Coat a wide skillet with nonstick spray. Brown meat. Add garlic. As pieces brown, remove and place in a casserole dish with a lid. Add 1/4 cup wine to skillet. Saute mushrooms and add to meat. Cover. Bake slowly at 275° for 1 hour or until meat is tender.Meanwhile, add water or broth, remaining wine and soy sauce to the pan the meat was in. Boil, stirring up the brownings until reduced to glaze. Blend mustard, cornstarch and cream. Pour into pan. Boil until thick. Pour off juices from meat into the pan. Boil, whisking until smooth and thick. Pour sauce over meat. Serve over rice or noodles.
