Seven-layer salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- Parmesan cheese - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 2 c
- onion, chopped fine - 1/4 c
- head lettuce - 1 item
- water chestnuts - 6 oz
- green pepper optional - 1/4 c
- bacon, fried - 3/4 lb
- celery, cut small - 1/4 c
- tomatoes, wedged - 4 item
- to 3 hard-cooked eggs, sliced - 2 item
How to make seven-layer salad:
Shred lettuce in flat pan. Sprinkle over the top onion, celery, green pepper and chestnuts (in layers). Break peas apart and sprinkle over while frozen. Spread mayonnaise like frosting over top. Sprinkle with sugar and Parmesan cheese to completely cover top. Sprinkle with bacon pieces. Decorate with tomatoes and eggs. Refrigerate a few hours to blend flavors.
