Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 5 Tbsp
- currants - 1/2 c
How to make scones:
Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening with fingers until crumbly. Add milk and currants. Mix well.Divide in 2 and roll out to 3/4 inch thick. Cut into 8 pie-shaped wedges. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
