Ingredients/Components
- flour - 3 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- milk - 1 c
- raisins - 1 c
- egg, separated - 1 item
How to make scones:
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in butter. Add raisins and milk. Fold in one stiffly beaten egg white. Turn onto floured board and roll about 1/2-inch thick. Beat egg yolk and add 1 teaspoon water. Brush over top. Bake at 400° for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Scones.
