Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • brown sugar, packed - 1/4 c
  • dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • catsup - 1/2 c
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • each cans baked beans 6 c - 3 19
  • each cans kidney beans, drained 5 c - 3 15
  • Italian link sausage or pork link sausages - 1 lb
  • smoked ham, cut into 1/2-inch cubes - 1/2 lb

How to make sausage-bean casserole:

Cook lima beans as directed on package; drain. Turn into ungreased 4 1/2-quart casserole. Add baked beans and kidney beans. In covered skillet, simmer sausage in small amount of water for 5 minutes. Drain liquid from skillet. Panfry sausage until brown on all sides. Cut each sausage into 2 or 3 pieces. Add with ham to beans. Stir together remaining ingredients and pour over casserole. Gently mix all ingredients. Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour. Heat oven to 400°.
