Salted peanut chews
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- pkg - 12 oz
- margarine or butter - 1/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- margarine or butter, softened - 1/3 c
- corn syrup
- miniature marshmallows - 3 c
- yellow cake mix - 1 pkg
- crisp rice cereal - 2 c
- salted peanuts - 2 c
How to make salted peanut chews:
Topping:2/3 c. corn syrup2 tsp. vanilla2 c. crisp rice cereal1/4 c. margarine or butter2 c. salted peanuts12 oz. pkg. or 2 c. peanut butter chips Heat oven to 350°. In large bowl, combine cake mix, margarine and egg at low speed until crumbly. Press in bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake 12 to 18 minutes at 350° or until golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with marshmallows. Return to oven for about 2 minutes, until marshmallows begin to puff. Cool while preparing topping.In large saucepan, heat corn syrup, margarine, vanilla and chips just until mixture is melted and smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in nuts and cereal. Immediately spoon warm topping over cake. Spread and chill. Cut into bars.
