- eggs - 5 item
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- almond extract - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sticks butter - 2 item
- cake flour - 3 c
- rum extract - 1 tsp
- coconut extract - 1 tsp
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each
How to make rum cake:
Cream together butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Add milk, dry ingredients and extracts. Beat well. Bake in greased and floured tube or Bundt pan for 1 1/2 hours at 350°.Glaze:1/2 c. sugar1/4 c. water1/4 tsp. almond extract Mix ingredients and bring to a boil.
