Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- cream of tartar - 1 tsp
- white sugar - 1/2 c
How to make roll-out sugar cookies:
Mix sugars, shortening, butter, egg and vanilla together until smooth. Stir in flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar. Chill. Roll out with flour and sugar. Mixture can also be formed into ball-like walnut shapes. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375° for approximately 8 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Rolled cookies.
