Rhubarb nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour
- brown sugar
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- vegetable oil - 2/3 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- rhubarb, cut into small pieces
How to make rhubarb nut bread:
Topping:1 Tbsp. butter or margarine1/3 c. sugar Combine brown sugar, oil and beaten egg. In another small bowl, mix together milk, baking soda, salt and vanilla. Add milk mixture to sugar mixture alternately with flour, beating well after each addition. Fold in rhubarb and nuts. Turn into two greased and floured loaf pans.Topping: Combine butter and sugar, and sprinkle loaves with topping mixture. Bake at 350° for about 1 hour or until tester inserted in center of bread comes out clean.
