Reuben casserole
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 c
- sliced tomatoes - 1 item
- Swiss cheese, shredded - 12 oz
- sauerkraut - 1/2 qt
- corned beef, shredded - 1 lb
- rye crackers, crushed - 1 c
- caraway seed to taste - 1 item
How to make reuben casserole:
Butter a 1 1/2-quart casserole. Put sauerkraut in bottom. Layer corned beef and Swiss cheese on top of sauerkraut. Put sliced tomatoes on top of last layer. Dab a little butter on top of tomatoes. Melt 1/2 cup butter; mix with crushed crackers and caraway seed. Spread on tomatoes. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, until bubbly.Recipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, One Dish meal.
