Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 5 tsp
- flour - 6 c
- soda - 5 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 qt
- boiling water - 2 c
- raisins optional - 3 4
- plus 3 Tbsp - 1 c
- Bran Buds - 4 c
- Nabisco 100% Bran - 2 c
How to make refrigerator bran muffins:
Pour boiling water over 100% Bran and let stand. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add buttermilk, bran and boiling water; mix. Add Bran Buds, then add dry ingredients. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 375° for 19 minutes or until brown on top. Can add raisins with dry ingredients if desired.You can store unbaked batter in sealed container in refrigerator for 6 weeks, using as desired.
