  • vanilla
  • chopped pecans
  • salt
  • butter - 3/4 c
  • soda
  • cocoa - 1 Tbsp
  • buttermilk
  • vinegar
  • box confectioners sugar - 1 item
  • red food coloring - 3 oz
  • plus 2 Tbsp
  • egg yolk - 1 item
  • sweet milk
  • sifted granulated sugar
  • Sift flour, salt and soda together and add alternately with the buttermilk

How to make red velvet cake:

Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Sift flour, salt and soda together and add alternately with the buttermilk. Mix red food coloring and cocoa together with a fork and add to the creamed mix
