- stick margarine - 1 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- box butter cake mix - 1 item
- bottle red food coloring - 1 item
- box confectioners sugar, sifted - 1 item
- Add vanilla, buttermilk, food coloring, butter and eggs
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix cake mix with cocoa. Add vanilla, buttermilk, food coloring, butter and eggs. Blend until moist. Add soda and vinegar. Mix into cake mix. Beat 4 minutes at medium speed. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes in layer pans. Cool and frost.Cream Cheese Icing For Red Velvet Cake:1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1/2 stick margarine1 box confectioners sugar, sifted2 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped pecans Cream together cream cheese and margarine.
