- all-purpose flour
- cooking oil
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- stick oleo - 1 item
- bottle red food coloring - 1 oz
- black walnut flavor - 1 tsp
- Add eggs, then add dry ingredients with buttermilk, alternately along with flavors
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream oil and sugar. Add eggs, then add dry ingredients with buttermilk, alternately along with flavors. Bake in four 9-inch pans in a 350° oven for 25 minutes. Makes 4-layer cake.Icing:1 c. milk1/4 c. flour pinch of salt1/2 c. Crisco1 stick oleo1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Cream Crisco, oleo and sugar. Add vanilla. Add to pudding mixture and beat in mixer until smooth.
