Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- cocoa - 1 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- stick oleo - 1 item
- Let cool before icing
How to make red velvet cake:
Mix all ingredients and bake in 3 cake pans at 350° for 30 minutes. Let cool before icing.Icing for Red Velvet Cake:1 c. milk1/2 c. flour1/8 tsp. salt2 tsp. vanilla1 c. sugar1 stick oleo1/2 c.
