Ingredients/Components
- water
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- chopped parsley - 1 tsp
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- ham bone - 1 item
- red beans
- pod garlic - 1 item
- salt pork - 1 lb
How to make red beans and rice:
Soak beans in water for 2 hours. Heat fat in pot and saute onion, garlic and green pepper. Add beans, ham bone and salt pork to boiling water and simmer slowly for 3 to 4 hours or until done. Season to taste and add parsley. Serve with hot rice.Recipe categories: Pork, Beans, Rice.
