Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- cream cheese - 8 oz
- pkg - 2 lb
- butter or margarine - 3/4 c
- boiling water - 2 c
- small container Cool Whip - 1 item
- strawberry jello
- crushed pretzels
How to make pretzel salad:
Cream the butter and sugar. Add pretzels and mix. Press into a 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350°. Cool.Cream together the cream cheese and 1 cup sugar. Add Cool Whip. Spread over baked mixture.
Mix strawberry jello with 2 cups boiling water. Add the frozen strawberries. When partially set, pour over cream cheese and pretzel mixture. May use unsweetened berries. Crust tastes like nuts rather than pretzels. Makes 12 servings.
