Pretzel salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 Tbsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- melted margarine - 3/4 c
- boiling water - 2 c
- carton Cool Whip - 1 oz
- crushed pretzels - 2 c
How to make pretzel salad:
Pretzels should not be crushed too fine. Allow some very small pieces to remain for crunch. Mix together pretzel crumbs, melted margarine and 3 tablespoons sugar and press into a 9 x 14 glass baking dish. Bake at 400° for just 8 minutes (no longer); let cool.Beat cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until well combined. Stir in Cool Whip and spread over the cooled pretzel crust. Dissolve jello in boiling water. Stir in frozen strawberries. Let this mixture stand for 10 minutes. Pour on top of cream cheese mixture and chill. Serves 12.
