Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 2/3 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 lb
- butter - 1 1
- evaporated milk - 3/4 c
- pecan halves - 2 c
How to make pralines:
In heavy skillet, combine sugar, salt, milk and butter. Stir over low heat until dissolved. Add pecans. Increase heat. Cook to 234° (soft ball stage). Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Let cook in pan 5 minutes. Stir rapidly until mixture thickens and coats pecans lightly. Drop rapidly from a spoon on foil or wax paper.
