Ingredients/Components

  • cornstarch - 2 tsp
  • water - 3/4 c
  • packed dark brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine 1 stick - 1/2 c
  • can pecans, finely chopped 1 c - 1 oz

How to make praline sauce:

Time: about 20 minutes before serving. Yield: about 2 cups.

In 2-quart saucepan over medium low heat, brown pecans in hot butter or margarine. Stir in brown sugar. In cup, stir water and cornstarch until smooth. Stir into pecan mixture; cook over medium high heat until mixture thickens slightly and boils, stirring.

Serve warm over French toast, pancakes, waffles, ice cream, sliced bananas, or rice or vanilla pudding. Contains 60 calories per tablespoon.
