Portuguese soup
Ingredients/Components
- can tomato sauce - 1 item
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- carrots, diced - 2 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 4 item
- can kidney beans - 1 item
- medium potatoes, diced - 4 item
- can cut string beans - 1 item
- washed rice - 1/2 c
- stew meat, cut in bite size pieces
- round onions, diced - 2 item
- medium head cabbage, sliced 1/2 inch thick - 1 item
- can corn small corn on-the-cob; optional - 1 item
How to make portuguese soup:
Brown stew meat; add water with onions, carrots, stewed tomatoes, potatoes, beans, string beans and corn. Add salt and pepper to taste; boil over medium flame for 1 hour, then add rice, cabbage and tomato sauce. Simmer on low flame about 20 minutes.Recipe categories: Vegetables, Soups & stews, Meat.
