  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/3 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • celery salt - 1/2 tsp
  • uncooked regular rice - 1/2 c
  • Melt 2 tablespoons shortening in large skillet and brown

How to make porcupines:

Mix meat, rice, water, onion, salts and pepper together and shape into meatballs. Melt 2 tablespoons shortening in large skillet and brown. Drain off fat.Sauce:1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce1 c. water2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Combine tomato sauce, water and Worcestershire sauce and pour over meatballs in pan. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer 45 minutes, adding a small amount of water while simmering, if necessary.
