Pineapple upside-down cake
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- baking powder
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/3 c
- maraschino cherries, halved - 4 item
- can sliced pineapple - 1 1/2
How to make pineapple upside-down cake:
Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. Halve pineapple slices. Melt butter in 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan. Add brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of the reserved pineapple syrup. Add water to the remaining syrup to make 1/2 cup. Arrange pineapple in bottom of pan.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Pineapple.
