Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- water - 1 qt
- salt
- red food coloring - 1 item
- eggs, hard-cooked and peeled - 3 doz
- white vinegar - 3 c
- mixed pickling spice, tied in cheesecloth - 1/2 c
How to make pickled eggs:
In a large saucepan, combine sugar, vinegar, water, pickling spice and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove pickling spice and discard. Stir food coloring over eggs in jar and cover. Refrigerate at least 12 hours. Remove fRecipe categories: Egg, Lunch/snacks, Appetizers.
