Pesto cheese spread
Ingredients/Components
- margarine - 1/4 c
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
- fresh parsley, chopped - 2 Tbsp
- cream cheese, softened - 8 oz
- fresh basil, chopped - 1/2 c
- garlic, minced - 1/4 tsp
- green onion, chopped - 2 Tbsp
- loaf French bread, cut into 1/4-inch slices - 1 item
- paprika or cayenne for garnish - 1 item
How to make pesto cheese spread:
Blend parsley, basil, green onion, garlic and Parmesan cheese in a food processor or blender until well-blended. Add cream cheese and margarine; blend thoroughly. Spoon into serving bowl and chill.To serve, sprinkle with paprika or pepper and set on tray with warm, thinly sliced bread.
Or, you can spread on the bread first and place under broiler for 2 minutes or long enough to toast edges and warm. Sprinkle with paprika or pepper after you remove from the oven.
