Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- egg yolks - 2 item
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- powdered sugar - 1 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- pecan halves - 4 doz
- dark Karo syrup - 1/2 c
How to make pecan tarts:
Filling:1/2 c. margarine1/2 c. dark Karo syrup1 c. powdered sugar1 c. chopped pecans4 doz. pecan halves Mix 1/2 cup of margarine and sugar. Stir in egg yolks, almond extract and sifted flour. Press crust evenly into tart shells or muffin cups. Bake in 400° oven for 8 to 10 minutes.Bring to a boil the margarine, syrup and powdered sugar. Stir in chopped pecans. Spoon filling into shells. Top with a pecan half. Bake in 350° oven for 5 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
