  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • margarine or butter, softened - 1/4 c
  • light corn syrup - 1 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • box yellow cake mix - 1 item

How to make pecan pie bars:

Set aside 2/3 cup yellow cake mix. Combine remaining cake mix, butter and the beaten egg. Stir by hand until the mixture is crumbly. Press the mixture evenly over bottom and one inch up sides of an ungreased pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch). Bake in 350° oven for 15 minutes.
