Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 4 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • vinegar - 1 qt
  • celery seed - 2 Tbsp
  • mustard seed - 1 Tbsp
  • green peppers - 6 item
  • turmeric - 1 Tbsp
  • onions - 1 qt
  • red bell peppers - 3 item
  • or 2 hot peppers - 1 item
  • pears - 1/2 gal

How to make pear relish:

Grind the first 5 ingredients and mix. Boil 5 minutes. Mix remaining ingredients and add to mix. Boil 5 minutes more. Pour into sterilized jars and seal. Makes about 11 pints.
