Peanut butter oatmeal cookies

Ingredients/Components

• vanilla - 1 tsp
• granulated sugar - 1 item
• water - 1/2 c
• baking soda - 1/2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• all-purpose flour
• peanut butter - 1 c
• brown sugar, packed
• butter flavor Crisco - 3/4 c
• Quaker oats quick or old fashioned, uncooked - 3 c

How to make peanut butter oatmeal cookies:

Beat first 3 ingredients until creamy. Beat in water, egg and vanilla. Add combined dry ingredients; mix well. Cover, chill about 2 hours. Heat oven to 350°. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and flatten with tines of fork dipped in granulated sugar to form crisscross pattern. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered. Makes about 7 dozen.
