  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 3/4 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • peanut butter - 1/2 c
  • shortening, softened - 1/2 c

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Mix shortening, peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar and egg well. Stir and blend in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; chill dough. Roll into walnut-size balls. Place 3-inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork, criss-cross and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375°. Makes 3 dozen.
