Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • peanut butter - 1/2 c

How to make peanut blossoms:

Sift flour, soda and salt. Cream shortening, peanut butter, sugar and brown sugar. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Shape by teaspoonful into balls. Roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes. Remove. Top each with a candy Kiss, pressing down so cookie cracks. Return to oven, 2 to 5 minutes.

Note: Takes 9 ounces candy Kisses.
