  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
  • buttermilk - 1/3 c
  • butter or margarine, melted - 1/2 c
  • butter, melted
  • sugar, divided - 1 c
  • unbaked pie crusts - 2 item
  • reserved peach syrup - 3 Tbsp
  • Filling:1 can large yellow peaches in heavy syrup

How to make peach pie:

Filling:1 can (large) yellow peaches in heavy syrup3 Tbsp. cornstarch1 c. sugar, divided3 Tbsp. reserved peach syrup3 eggs1/3 c. buttermilk1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted1 tsp. vanilla Glaze:2 Tbsp. butter, melted2 Tbsp. sugar Combine cornstarch and 2 or 3 tablespoons of sugar. Add 3 tablespoons reserved peach juice. Add remaining sugar, eggs and buttermilk. Mix well. Stir in melted butter and vanilla. Pour over peaches. Stir until peaches are coated.

Pour filling into unbaked pie crust. Cover with top crust; flute edge with fingers or fork. Brush top with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400° for 45 minutes.
