  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 4 item
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • confectioners sugar - 2 c
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • shredded coconut - 1 c
  • orange juice - 1 c
  • dates - 1 lb
  • nuts pecans - 2 c
  • orange slice candy pieces - 1 lb

How to make orange slice cake:

Combine flour and salt; set aside. Mix candy, dates, nuts and coconut. Put 1/2 cup flour over this mixture. Mix butter, sugar and eggs, one at a time. Add soda and buttermilk. Add flour and fruit mixture. Mix well. Bake in tube pan at 300° for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Mix orange juice and confectioners sugar. Pour over hot cake. Let sit overnight.
