  • chopped pecans - 2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • butter - 1 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • orange juice - 1/2 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1/2 item
  • dates - 1/2 lb
  • orange slices - 1 lb
  • coconut or raisins - 1 c
  • Sift 3 1/2 cups flour and soda together

How to make orange slice cake:

Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Sift 3 1/2 cups flour and soda together. Add buttermilk; mix together. Add dates, nuts and orange slices. Mix well. Bake at 250° for 3 1/2 hours.Topping:1/2 c. flour1/2 box powdered sugar1/2 c. orange juice Pour over cake.
