c sugar - 2 item
tsp baking soda - 1 item
c butter, softened - 1 item
tbsp grated orange peel - 3 item
8 oz pkg chopped dates - 1 item
c plain flour - 3 item
c buttermilk - 1/2 item
c coconut - 2 item
lb sliced orange candy - 1/2 item
c chopped nuts - 2 item

How to make orange slice cake:

Mix all ingredients together. Pour mixture into greased tube pan. Bake (on middle rack) 2 hr at 250°.

Orange Slice Cake Icing: Mix 1 c orange juice and 2 c confectioners sugar and pour over cake when done. Let it stand overnight.
