Orange chicken
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- paprika - 1/4 tsp
- orange juice - 2 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- small onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
- chicken breasts boneless and skinless - 4 item
- cooking sherry - 1/4 c
- thin slices green and red pepper - 6 item
How to make orange chicken:
Combine 1/4 cup flour, salt, pepper and paprika in plastic bag without holes. Shake contents, then place chicken breasts in bag and shake. Take coated chicken breasts and brown in oil. Remove chicken. In same pan, mix juice, sherry, sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to boil and reduce heat. Add combined water and cornstarch until thickened. Place chicken in greased pan. Place peppers and onions on top of chicken. Pour orange juice mix over top. Bake, covered, at 350° for 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Low cholesterol, Low sodium, Low fat.
