Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- raisins - 1 c
- orange juice
- walnuts - 1/3 c
- large orange - 1 item
How to make orange cake:
Topping:1/3 c. orange juice1/3 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon Grind together orange pulp and rind, reserving juice for topping, raisins and walnuts. Sift together flour, soda, salt and sugar. Add shortening and 3/4 cup milk; beat well. Add eggs and 1/4 cup milk and beat well. Fold orange-raisin mixture into batter. Pour into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake in 350° oven for 40 to 50 minutes. Drip 1/3 cup orange juice over warm cake. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Fruit.
