Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • firmly packed brown sugar - 1 c
  • oats, uncooked - 3 c

How to make oatmeal cookies:

Beat together shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla until creamy. Add combined remaining ingredients. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
