sugar
cinnamon - 1 tsp
eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
water - 1 c
baking powder - 1/2 tsp
baking soda - 1 tsp
shortening - 3/4 c
nuts - 1/2 c
raisins - 1 c
rolled oats - 2 c
cloves - 1/2 tsp
sifted Gold Medal flour

How to make oatmeal cookies:

Simmer raisins until plump (20 to 30 minutes). Add enough water to raisin liquid to make 1/2 cup. Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in liquid. Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and cloves. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats, raisins and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
